Job summary

Nexamp Inc. is seeking a Senior Electrical Performance Engineer to improve the reliability, availability, and performance of Nexamp’s solar PV and BESS fleet (>2 GW).

This hybrid role is based in our Lawrence, Boston, NYC, Chicago, or DC offices. You will analyze field data, optimize protection schemes, coordinate with Operations, Asset Management, and OEMs, and drive data‑driven actions to reduce downtime and extend asset life.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 7+ years of electrical engineering experience.
• 2+ years of experience in solar and protection relays (breakers, reclosers, power logic controllers, etc.).
• Professional Engineer license is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own plant protection, controls, and compliance strategy across protection settings.
• Engage with utilities on grid‑interaction issues and protection philosophies; negotiate solutions.
• Improve system reliability by evaluating protection schemes, relay timing, and inverter control.
• Partner with Engineering to improve design standards and fleet consistency.
• Lead data‑driven reliability efforts by analyzing logs, events, and EMS data.
• Own fleetwide monitoring and diagnostics strategy to reduce false positives and response times.
• Develop analytical models and performance standards for the fleet.
