Job summary

Nexamp, a leader in clean energy, seeks a Senior Electrical Performance Engineer to improve reliability and performance of solar PV and BESS assets, currently over 2 GW under management. You will apply advanced electrical engineering analysis in the field, diagnose issues, and drive data-backed recommendations.

Hybrid role in our Lawrence, Boston, NYC, Chicago, or DC offices reporting to the Director of Performance Engineering; collaborate with Operations, Asset Management, Controls, and OEMs to

Qualifications

• Requires 7+ years of electrical engineering experience.
• 2+ years in solar and protection relays (breakers, reclosers, power logic controllers).
• Engineering license is a plus (PE).
• Strong communication and across-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Own plant protection, controls, and compliance strategy across settings and approvals.
• Engage with utilities on grid-interaction issues and interconnection compliance.
• Improve system reliability and energy performance through protection schemes and inverter control functions.
• Partner with Engineering to improve design standards and fleet consistency.
• Lead data-driven reliability and loss reduction efforts using logs and EMS data.
• Own fleetwide monitoring and diagnostics strategy to reduce false positives and incident response time.
• Develop analytical models and performance standards for the PV and BESS fleet.
• Represent Performance Engineering in cross-functional initiatives and mentor junior analysts.
