Job summary

Nexamp is seeking a Senior Electrical Performance Engineer to advance reliability and performance across our solar PV and BESS portfolio. You will apply advanced electrical engineering analysis to operating systems, diagnose complex issues, and drive data-backed improvements to reduce downtime and extend asset life.

The role reports to the Director, Performance Engineering. This hybrid position is based in Lawrence, MA or other Nexamp offices and involves collaboration with Operations, Asset

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 7+ years of electrical engineering experience.
• 2+ years in solar and protection relays (breakers, reclosers, PLCs).
• Professional Engineer license is a plus.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

• Own plant protection, controls, and compliance strategy across OCPDs, relays, and plant controllers.
• Engage utilities on complex grid-interaction issues and interconnection compliance.
• Evaluate and optimize protection schemes, breaker coordination, and inverter control functions.
• Improve design standards and fleet consistency with templates and specs.
• Lead data-driven reliability efforts using inverter logs and EMS data.
• Refine fleet monitoring, alert thresholds, and escalation workflows.
• Represent Performance Engineering in cross-functional initiatives and mentor junior analysts.
