Job summary

Reliable Robotics, Mountain View, CA, seeks a Sr. Electrical NPI Engineer to lead electrical/avionics NPI efforts, develop manufacturability strategies, and drive MTBF-focused improvements.

You will mentor cross-functional teams and shape frameworks for cost, quality and reliability in a safety-critical environment. The role requires 5+ years in NPI for PCBs/PCBAs, DFx experience, and CAD/PLM tool proficiency (Altium, NX, Teamcenter).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, aerospace, or systems engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in new production introduction (NPI) of PCBs and PCBAs including design, supply chain, manufacturing, inspection or testing.
• 5+ years of experience conducting design for excellence (DFx) reviews for cost, producibility, inspectability, and conformance to requirements.
• 5+ years of manufacturing, processing, and materials knowledge within a safety-critical environment.
• 2+ years of experience with CAD/PLM software such as Altium, NX, and Teamcenter.

Responsibilities

• Produce, integrate, test, diagnose, inspect, and maintain electrical or avionics assemblies (PCB, PCBA, HITL, COTS).
• Source, qualify, and troubleshoot electrical or avionics products; conduct DFX reviews; develop scalable processes.
• Collaborate with design engineering, quality, and certification teams to embed producibility, compliance, and risk mitigation in all phases of product development.
• Lead the creation, refinement, and enforcement of NPI frameworks and technical review methodologies.
• Represent production in design reviews, release designs, and evaluate designs for cost, producibility, and conformance to requirements.
• Ensure product and process quality by conducting DFT reviews, testing capabilities, and establishing standards.
• Establish and maintain technical readiness criteria and risk assessments (DFMEA, PFMEA) and validation strategies for new products.
• Develop quality control plans and inspection infrastructure.
• Develop and manage supplier relationships to meet manufacturing, testing, and reliability requirements.
• Lead root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions to maintain schedule, quality, and reliability.
