Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a Standard Operations Supervisor to lead a high-performing, safety-focused operations team across multiple functions and facilities.

You will drive efficiency, reliability, and regulatory compliance, recruit and develop talent, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to meet objectives and customer expectations. The role supports a hybrid work model with on-site duties in Canada/U.S. regions.

Qualifications

• Five+ years in design, construction, operations, engineering or maintenance of utility systems/power generation plants or related fields.
• Technical expertise in standards, procedures, and applicable government/environmental regulations.
• Operational knowledge of work and asset management and analytical/reporting applications.
• Effective change leader with ability to communicate strategies to stakeholders.
• Proven results in achieving performance and operational metrics and driving process adherence.
• Completion of an approved apprentice program in an appropriately related craft.
• Demonstrated understanding of utility finance.
• Experience working with bargaining unit employees.
• Willing to work rotating shifts and/or be on call.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible safety leadership and contribute to a strong safety culture.
• Evaluate team performance based on operational efficiency, reliability and quality metrics; drive improvements.
• Provide direct leadership over crew effectiveness, quality and productivity.
• Recruit and develop talent; manage performance and engagement.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal/external stakeholders to support Operations.
• Oversee compliance with policies, labor agreements and regulatory standards.
