Job summary

Hargrove Engineers + Constructors seeks an experienced electrical and instrumentation designer to execute complete design packages for complex projects. You will create MCC single lines, cable schedules, and installation drawings, working under supervision while mentoring junior staff.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in industrial electrical design, strong NEC knowledge, and proficiency with AutoCAD and MicroStation.

Qualifications

Associate degree in Engineering Technology or CAD is required.
8+ years of relevant industrial experience in electrical and instrumentation drafting and design.
Familiarity with the current version of NEC.
Ability to perform lighting level calculations.
Ability to size wire, conduit and overcurrent protection for lighting and power.
Ability to route conduit and cable tray; calculate tray and conduit fill.
Ability to determine MCC loading; 480VAC equipment and 15kV/5kV equipment specs.
Knowledge of CAD drafting standards and ability to lead small teams.

Responsibilities

Perform complete electrical and instrumentation design for complex projects under supervision.
Produce installation details, MCC single lines, electrical room layouts and wiring diagrams.
Develop equipment specifications for 480VAC and 15kV/5kV gear with engineering review.
Provide technical guidance to less experienced drafting personnel.
Lead small teams and coordinate with discipline leads for deliverables.
Assist onsite during startup and support interoffice execution.
