Job summary

Hargrove & Associates Inc. is seeking a skilled electrical/instrumentation drafter with 4+ years of industrial experience to design and detail electrical systems.

You will produce installation details, MCC single-lines, layouts, and wiring diagrams under supervision while ensuring adherence to NEC and company CAD standards. The role requires an Associate degree in Engineering Technology or CAD, strong 2D AutoCAD and MicroStation proficiency, and the ability to perform calculations for lighting,

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering Technology or CAD required.
• 4+ years of relevant industrial experience in electrical and instrumentation drafting and design.
• Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC).
• Ability to perform lighting level calculations and to size wire, conduit and overcurrent protection for lighting and power applications.
• Ability to perform voltage drop calculations and to route conduit and cable tray.
• Ability to calculate tray and conduit fill and determine MCC loading.
• Familiarity with vendor equipment drawings and installation details.

Responsibilities

• Familiarity with and utilizing department design and drafting standards.
• Familiarity with project scope, specifications and design criteria upon assignment to a project task team.
• Producing installation details, motor control center single lines, electric room layouts, motor control elementaries, connection diagrams, cable schedules, control panel layouts and grounding, lighting, power and instrumentation plans under minimal supervision.
• Recognizing and communicating scope and design changes promptly.
• Providing on-site assistance during startup.
