Job summary
Hargrove Engineers & Constructors seeks an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Designer in Concord, CA. The role involves designing complex electrical and instrumentation systems, producing MCC drawings, cable layouts, and installation specs under general supervision.
The candidate will have 8+ years in industrial design, NEC familiarity, and strong CAD skills (AutoCAD, MicroStation, 2D/3D). On-site startup support and collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams are expected.
Qualifications
- Requires 8+ years of relevant industrial experience in electrical and instrumentation drafting and design.
- Familiarity with the NEC and ability to size wire, conduit and overcurrent protection.
- Ability to perform lighting level and voltage drop calculations; route conduit and cable trays.
Responsibilities
- Produce installation details, MCC single lines, room layouts and grounding plans under minimal supervision.
- Create electrical installation specifications with engineering review and approval.
- Provide guidance to less experienced drafting personnel and coordinate with project teams.
