Job summary

COMPA Industries in Aiken, SC, seeks a Principal Quality Control Engineer (Electrical/I&C Inspector) to lead QC engineers, develop inspection plans, and ensure conformance to design outputs and standards. The role supports SPD/K-PuMP project construction and maintenance activities.

The incumbent will supervise QC activities, review procedures, and coordinate with other departments to meet site specifications and safety standards. DOE Q clearance is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline with 8–10 years of construction inspection experience.
• Equivalents: A.A. with 10–12 years, or high school diploma with 12–16 years of experience.
• Certification in relevant areas required, with ongoing project quality program training.

Responsibilities

• Supervise quality control engineers performing inspections and surveillance.
• Develop and peer-review Quality Control Inspection Plans for electrical and I&C.
• Perform field inspections and document results; issue Non-Conformance Reports.
• Review compliance of products and processes against drawings and specs.
• Set priorities to support construction and operations; resolve issues with other departments.
• Review subcontractor quality procedures and monitor adherence.
• Prepare quality procedures for inspection, testing, surveillance.
• Coordinate QC activities with other construction departments.
• Prepare status reports and participate in contract discussions on quality.
• Provide effective training and evaluate personnel performance.
