9 Mothers Corporation in Austin, TX seeks a Senior Electrical Harness Engineer to own power, signal, data, and fiber harnesses from conception to production. You will design for rugged use, manage connectors and cables across moving axes, and drive cost-down while maintaining field-ready performance.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years designing and sourcing harnesses for defense-like or industrial outdoor equipment, with hands-on experience in copper, fiber and hybrid builds.

Qualifications

• 8+ years designing, specifying and sourcing cable harnesses for outdoor hardware.
• Experience with copper, fiber and hybrid harnesses across moving joints.
• U.S. citizenship or ability to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Architect the harness system from wire lists to connector strategy.
• Design for flex life across moving axes and varying environments.
• Prototype, test and verify harnesses on bench setups and in field trials.
• Source contract manufacturers and manage second sources.
• Cost-down and BOM management to target ruggedness vs. cost.
