Job summary

JAN Electric is seeking an experienced Estimating Manager to lead our pre-construction efforts for commercial and industrial electrical projects in Illinois. You will bridge vision and bid, working with PMs and engineers to build precise, winning estimates.

Responsibilities include deep-dive analysis of specs, coordinating with subcontractors, presenting to senior management, and implementing best practices to keep estimating protocols cutting-edge.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of electrical estimating experience (Commercial/Industrial).
• Proficiency in Trimble Accubid, LiveCount, and Bluebeam; AutoCAD & AGi32 are a plus.
• Deep knowledge of NEC requirements and electrical engineering math.
• Ability to lead multiple projects and keep the team aligned.

Responsibilities

• Analyze project specs and drawings for materials, labor, and equipment.
• Collaborate with PMs and Engineers to build precise bids.
• Review subcontractor/vendor bids to ensure budget alignment and project fit.
• Present estimates to senior management with clarity and confidence.
• Implement best practices and maintain cutting-edge estimating protocols.
