Job summary

Judge Direct Placement seeks a Senior Project Estimator in Houston to develop accurate cost estimates for multi-discipline EPC projects across chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, bulk storage, terminal and renewables sectors.

The role requires analyzing drawings, specs, and documents to identify materials, labor, and equipment needs; preparing detailed estimates for electrical and instrumentation systems; and collaborating with engineering, procurement, and project management teams to ensure bid

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience in related field.
• Background in industrial construction and project estimating.
• Analytical mindset with strong math skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Excel; exposure to estimating software such as Bluebeam, McCormick or Accubid.
• Understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
• Effective communicator able to work independently and in teams.
• Eagerness to grow in a fast-paced EPC environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual and detail construction cost estimates for electrical, I&C systems.
• Interpret plans and specs from multiple design phases and generate quantity takeoffs and pricing.
• Assist in preparing detailed estimates for electrical and instrumentation scopes.
• Analyze drawings to identify materials, labor, and equipment needs.
• Perform quantity takeoffs using digital tools and estimating software.
• Support review and analysis of subcontractor and supplier quotes.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement and project management to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain historical cost databases and benchmarking data.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits and project walkdowns as needed.
• Contribute to proposal documentation and final bid packages.
• Stay current with industry trends, pricing, and labor rates for forecasting.
