Job summary

Confident Search Consultants in Houston, TX seeks an experienced Sr. Electrical Estimator for industrial EPC and data center construction. Fully onsite role with standard 40-45 hours weekly, nationwide travel possible.

Responsibilities include preparing detailed estimates, reviewing docs, doing takeoffs, and bid package development while collaborating with engineering and procurement teams.

Qualifications

• Electrical construction estimating experience within industrial, commercial, EPC, or mission-critical construction.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Knowledge of electrical materials, installation methods, and construction labor requirements.
• Experience with quantity takeoffs, cost estimating, and subcontractor bid evaluations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Bluebeam, McCormick, Accubid, or similar estimating software preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred, not required.
• Data center construction experience is a plus, not required.
• Ability to work independently and travel nationwide as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed electrical and instrumentation estimates for complex construction projects.
• Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine project scope and requirements.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and calculate material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations for accuracy and competitiveness.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams throughout the bidding process.
• Analyze labor productivity, material pricing, and project-specific cost considerations.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project walkdowns.
• Develop proposal documentation and final bid packages.
• Maintain historical cost data and support improvements in estimating accuracy.
