Job summary

True North Consultants, Inc. seeks a Sr. Electrical Estimator for large-scale EPC and data center construction projects based in Houston, TX. This onsite role supports industrial, commercial, EPC, and mission-critical work nationwide.

You will prepare detailed electrical and instrumentation estimates, review drawings, perform takeoffs, and collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to deliver competitive bids. Travel nationwide as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience estimating electrical construction projects in industrial, commercial, EPC, or mission-critical sectors.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Knowledge of electrical materials, installation methods, and construction labor requirements.
• Experience with quantity takeoffs, cost estimating, and subcontractor bid evaluations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with estimating software (Bluebeam, McCormick, Accubid) preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed electrical and instrumentation estimates for complex construction projects.
• Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine project scope and requirements.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and calculate material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations for accuracy and competitiveness.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams throughout the bidding process.
• Analyze labor productivity, material pricing, and project-specific cost considerations.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project walkdowns.
• Develop proposal documentation and final bid packages.
• Maintain historical cost data and support improvements in estimating accuracy.
