Job summary

Allen Control Systems is seeking an Electrical Engineering Manager in Austin, TX to lead and grow our electrical engineering team. This player-coach role combines hands-on technical work on schematic capture, PCB layout, and hardware development with people leadership in a matrix organization.

You'll mentor engineers, drive power electronics, motor drives, embedded computing and networking, and partner with mechanical, firmware, and systems teams to deliver field-ready hardware.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in electrical engineering with people management.
• Hands-on with schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Experience in power electronics, motor drives, embedded computing, and networking.
• Proven ability to lead in a matrix organization and communicate across teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster collaborative culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of electrical engineers in a cross-functional, matrix organization.
• Contribute hands-on to schematic capture and PCB layout; review designs.
• Drive development across power electronics, motor drives, embedded computing, and networking subsystems.
• Partner with mechanical, firmware, and systems engineering to integrate designs.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to communicate designs and resolve issues.
