Job summary

Allen Control Systems in Austin is seeking an engineering professional to design electrical systems, including schematics and PCB layouts, for autonomous turret platforms. You will develop embedded software in C++ and Python, with emphasis on real-time control and safety-critical performance.

Responsibilities include simulations, EMI/EMC testing, and tight collaboration with mechanical and software teams to ensure robust integration in harsh environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience with microcontroller-based control systems including power conversion and motor drive.
• Proficiency with PCB design tools (Altium, OrCAD, Eagle).
• Embedded software development in C++ and Python for real-time systems.
• Ability to perform simulations for signal integrity, thermal, and EMC.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems including schematics and PCB layouts for autonomous turret systems.
• Develop real-time embedded software in C++ and Python for safety-critical applications.
• Perform simulations for signal integrity, thermal management, and EMC.
• Collaborate with mechanical and software teams for robust electromechanical integration.
• Lead PCB design with attention to layout, power distribution, and EMC per military standards.
• Document designs, schematics, layouts, simulation results, and test protocols.
• Test and debug embedded systems in lab and field conditions.
• Optimize code for performance and power efficiency on constrained hardware.
