Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. in Albuquerque, NM, seeks a Senior Electrical Engineering Manager to lead electrical engineering across space electronics, laser communications, sensors, and related aerospace/defense systems.

You will build and guide a high-performing team, oversee staffing, training, and program collaboration, and drive design standards and qualification across the full lifecycle, including product development, qualification, and sustainment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years in aerospace/defense/space with at least 3 years in leadership.
• Experience leading a high-performing electrical engineering department.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of 20+ electrical engineering professionals and managers.
• Oversee staffing, training, and career development to build capability.
• Coordinate with program management on schedule, resources, and technical performance.
• Ensure adherence to space qualification standards and IPC standards.
