Job summary

AV is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineering Manager to steer engineering execution across the full product lifecycle for space electronics, laser communications, sensors, and related aerospace systems. You will build and lead a high-performing team, setting strategy and ensuring qualification, production, and sustainment in a competitive market.

You will mentor managers, drive staffing, budgets, and develop design standards, while working with customers and program management to meet schedule

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years in aerospace/space systems with 3+ years leadership.
• Proven ability to lead an electrical engineering department.
• Experience managing subordinate managers.
• Experience across requirements, design, test, and production transitions.
• Familiarity with PCB design and space qualification standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of 20+ electrical engineers and managers.
• Oversee staffing, hiring, and training programs.
• Coordinate with program management on schedule and resources.
• Direct development of internal electrical engineering design standards and practices.
• Provide strategic direction for developing custom electronics solutions for space-qualified applications.
• Oversee design tools usage like Altium, SPICE, MATLAB, HyperLynx.
