Job summary

TYLin is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer with expertise in traction power and transportation electrical systems to support planning, design, and delivery of complex infrastructure projects across the Mid-Atlantic region. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, oversee TPSS and substations, and ensure compliance with NEC, IEEE, and client standards.

This role emphasizes technical leadership, coordination with utilities, and mentoring junior engineers within TYLin's

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; Master's preferred.
PE license in DC/MD/VA preferred or ability to reciprocity.
10+ years designing electrical systems for large infrastructure projects.
Experience with traction power, substations, utility coordination.

Responsibilities

Lead design and delivery of transportation electrical systems for infrastructure projects.
Design electrical infrastructure: TPSS, medium/low voltage, substations, interconnections.
Perform power system analyses: load flow, short-circuit, voltage drop, arc flash.
Develop specifications, calculations, reports, and construction documents.
Conduct design reviews and QA/QC.
Serve as Engineer of Record where applicable.
Coordinate across disciplines and interface with utilities and agencies.
Mentor junior engineers and support business development in TYLin's Transportation practice.
