Job summary

TYLin is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer with expertise in traction power and transportation electrical systems to support planning, design, and delivery of complex infrastructure projects across the Mid-Atlantic region. Our Transportation practice delivers innovative solutions for highways, bridges, tunnels, airports, passenger rail, freight rail, and public transit systems.

You will provide technical leadership across a diverse project portfolio while helping clients

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Professional Engineer (PE) license required or ability to obtain reciprocity in DC/MD/VA.
10+ years of progressive experience designing electrical systems for transportation or large-scale infrastructure.
Experience with traction power, substations, utility coordination, and electrification infrastructure.
Strong knowledge of medium- and low-voltage systems, protective relaying, grounding and bonding, IEC/IEEE standards.
Experience using power system modeling tools such as ETAP, SKM or EasyPower.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and delivery of transportation electrical systems for complex infrastructure projects across multi-market sectors.
Perform or oversee power system analyses (load flow, short-circuit, voltage drop, protective device coordination, arc flash).
Develop technical specifications, calculations, reports and construction documents.
Conduct design reviews and maintain QA/QC standards; interface with other disciplines and stakeholders.
