Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join the Lunar Permanence team in developing crew interface hardware and habitat systems for Blue Moon landers. You will drive electrical architecture, define interfaces, and own electronics from concept to flight qualification.

The role demands hands-on lab bring-up, board- and box-level design, and close collaboration with systems, mechanical, and software teams to ensure robust, integrated solutions for spaceflight hardware.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in electrical engineering or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 7+ years in high-reliability electronics (spacecraft/launch/aviation/defense or similar), including board- and/or box-level design through integration and test.
  • Ability to produce release-quality artifacts under configuration control (schematics, BoMs, drawings, test procedures/reports).
  • Hands-on lab bring-up/debug skills (oscilloscope, DMM, logic analyzer, power supplies, load emulation; failure isolation and re-test).
  • Proficiency with ECAD/analysis tools (e.g., Altium/Mentor/KiCad, SPICE), signal analysis, grounding schemes and EMC-aware design fundamentals.
  • Strong cross-functional communication with systems, mechanical, software, and mission assurance/quality.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute, and integrate electrical and electromechanical components for crew interface hardware and habitability systems.
  • Design mission hardware from concept through qualification and flight, collaborating with vehicle systems, mechanical, test, and manufacturing engineers.
  • Guide electrical architecture of crew system components to ensure robust, simple, integrated solutions; define interfaces, design circuit cards, and own components through build, test, and verification.
  • Challenge existing approaches, simplify complex systems, and balance technical rigor with practical implementation.
