Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in Cedar Rapids to shape secure, high-speed digital communication systems for ground, airborne, and space platforms. You will design CCAs, apply SI/PI methods, and work across cross-functional teams through the hardware lifecycle.

The role requires a STEM degree with 5+ years of experience (or advanced degree with 3+ years), and the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret clearance. Onsite placement may occur at Cedar Rapids or Fort Wayne.

Qualifications

• End-to-end circuit card development from concept through verification.
• Expertise in digital design for multilayer PCBs (12+ layers) and DFM/DFT.
• Knowledge of controlled impedance, board fabrication, and testing.
• Proficiency with PCB tools: Xpedition, Allegro, or Altium Designer.
• Ability to obtain/maintain DoD security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Design high-speed digital CCAs from requirements to production.
• Optimize SI/PI via modeling, simulation, and hardware validation.
• Apply DTC, DFM, DFT to ensure producible designs.
• Support hardware verification, DV/T, RCA, and factory transitions.
• Collaborate across Systems, Software, and Mechanical Engineering teams.
