Job summary

Sayres & Associates, LLC is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with an active SECRET clearance verifiable in DISS, based in Washington, DC. The role supports PMS 300/325 Ship Design Management, focusing on electrical systems for ships and integration with other disciplines.

Responsibilities include power distribution analysis, contract design activities, in-service upgrades, and mentorship of junior engineers. Remote/hybrid work arrangements may be available depending on customer needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; 7+ years design experience in ship systems.
• Experience with ABS and military specifications and requirements.
• 3D modeling and ship system integration experience.
• FMEA experience; energy storage and Lithium battery systems knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Support PMS 300/325 Ship Design Management with SME expertise for electrical systems on assigned hulls.
• Develop and analyze power distribution systems for ships with emphasis on safety and reliability.
• Contribute to contract design, detail design, and construction activities for electrical systems.
• Assist in in-service ship design, upgrading electrical systems and installations.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations and standards across shipbuilding processes.
• Mentor junior engineers within the shipbuilding team.
