Job summary

Sayres and Associates Corporation in Washington, DC seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer with an active SECRET clearance to support PMS 300/325 Ship Design Management. You will analyze and design electrical systems for ships and craft, including power distribution, protection, and integration with other ship systems.

Responsibilities include leading electrical design efforts, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams, supporting shipboard installations and testing, and mentoring junior

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 7+ years of design experience for ship systems and integration.
  • Familiarity with ABS and IEEE 45 standards and an active SECRET clearance.
  • Experience in FMEA, one-line diagrams, protection analyses, and shipboard electrical design.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct analysis and contribute to electrical system concept and feasibility studies for ships and craft.
  • Design and oversee electrical power distribution, switchboards, and safety features for ship systems.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure integration and compliance with standards and requirements.
  • Support shipboard electrical installations, testing, and performance verification.
  • Provide mentorship to junior engineers and advise on producibility and contract documentation.
