Job summary

EMD Curtiss Wright Electro Mechanical in Cheswick, PA seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to design and analyze advanced rotating equipment and systems. You will lead studies, perform EM analyses, mentor engineers, and coordinate multi-project initiatives, using 2D/3D EMFEA tools to predict performance.

Requirements include a Master’s in Electrical Engineering (PhD preferred), 7+ years on rotating equipment, and US citizenship with ability to obtain DoD clearances.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 7+ years’ experience in Electrical Engineering with rotating equipment.
• Experience with EMFEA, system modeling, acoustics, or thermal analysis.
• Proficiency with Ansys Maxwell, Simplorer, Simulink, MATLAB; familiarity with Flux2D or RMXPRT is a plus.
• Ability to create models/drawings, perform design reviews and trade studies.
• Strong leadership, project coordination and communication skills.
• Must be a US citizen; ability to obtain DoD security clearances.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and expertise in electrical engineering for rotating equipment designs.
• Lead studies, analysis and testing; mentor engineers on complex projects.
• Model electrical interactions; evaluate EM fields using 2D/3D EMFEA codes.
• Plan and coordinate engineering solutions and project schedules.
• Lead experiments to collect data and interpret results; communicate findings clearly.
