Job summary

Curtiss-Wright EMD in Cheswick, PA is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead design and analysis of electro-mechanical systems. You will direct small technical teams, mentor engineers, conduct experiments, and produce detailed reports supporting production readiness.

Responsibilities include optimizing safety, quality, and cost, while coordinating multiple projects and ensuring compliance with DoD requirements. Flexible schedule and hybrid work options are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering; advanced degree a plus.
• 10 years of experience designing and manufacturing engineered products.
• Experience with rotating equipment and machine designs (motors, pumps, generators, propulsors).
• Finite Element Analysis, Computational Fluid Dynamics, GD&T, CAD/CAE systems.
• Ability to perform detailed analysis and studies in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to create models and drawings and conduct trade studies and design reviews.
• Coordinate multiple project responsibilities; strong MS Office knowledge.
• US citizenship and ability to obtain DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provides engineering design and analysis to optimize efficiency, safety, quality, and cost.
• Designs and conducts experiments, collects data, interprets results, writes reports.
• Leads small technical teams and design reviews; mentors junior engineers.
• Develops and presents technical objectives and innovative solutions.
• Supports failure investigations and bid responses; participates in program decisions.
• Builds, installs, tests, and troubleshoots new equipment for production readiness.
