Job summary

Fairbanks Morse Defense is seeking a project and technical leader to drive AC & DC rotating equipment development. You will oversee electromagnetic analysis, thermal loading, and insulation systems while guiding prototype testing and qualification efforts.

The role requires 3–7 years of BSEE experience, knowledge of noise and vibration in rotating machinery, and familiarity with motor manufacturing processes. Travel is minimal and collaboration with sales and engineering teams is essential.

Qualifications

  • BSEE required with rotating machinery experience.
  • Knowledge of noise, vibration & harshness in rotating machinery.
  • Familiarity with motor manufacturing processes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead product design and performance analyses for rotating equipment.
  • Use first principles to evaluate designs, prototypes, and production units.
  • Develop testing protocols and evaluate results with field feedback.
  • Collaborate to develop or modify products to meet customer needs.
  • Provide technical support to sales and assist in quoting.
  • Develop BOMs and costing using SolidWorks, EPDM and ERP tools.
  • Ensure engineering data transfers into ERP accurately.
  • Lead problem-solving and Kaizen activities.
  • ONFORN/NAVAL security: provide proof of US citizenship.
