Job summary

Standard Bots is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to own the electronics at the heart of our robots, including motor controllers, power distribution, compute, camera, battery management, and sensing boards. You will work with Mechanical, Software, and Functional Safety teams to ship hardware that is reliable and scalable.

You’ll design, validate, and release PCBAs, drive critical architecture decisions, and lead design reviews.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering.
5+ years designing, building, and testing PCBAs with production release experience.
Deep hands-on electronics experience across motor drives, power electronics, embedded compute.
Ability to lead design reviews and mentor engineers in a fast-paced hardware team.

Responsibilities

Own PCBAs for motor controllers, power distribution, compute, camera, and sensing boards from concept to production release.
Drive architecture choices through trade studies and define system requirements.
Schematic capture, PCB layout, board bring-up, test plans, and debugging in the lab.
Lead reviews and maintain component library, release checklists, and DFM/DFT practices.
Serve as primary technical contact for PCB fabrication/assembly vendors and address production issues.
Mentor associate and mid-level engineers on technical and professional growth.
