Job summary

Standard Bots is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to own the electronics at the heart of our robots. You will take designs from concept through production release, work hands‑on in the lab, and collaborate with Mechanical, Software, and Functional Safety teams to ship reliable hardware at scale.

You will design and validate PCBAs for motor controllers, power distribution, compute, camera, and sensing subsystems, with emphasis on high‑current power and high‑speed digital layouts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field)
• 5+ years designing, building, and testing PCBAs through production release
• Mastery of power electronics (motor drivers, inverter stages, switch‑mode supplies) and digital/analog front‑ends
• Experience with high‑current power and high‑speed digital routing
• Schematic capture, layout, board bring‑up, test plans, and root‑cause debugging

Responsibilities

• Own the design and validation of PCBAs for motor controllers, power distribution, compute, camera, battery management, and sensing boards from concept through production release
• Drive architecture decisions and advise hardware leadership on technical strategy
• Hands‑on lab work: schematic capture, PCB layout, board bring‑up, test plans, and debugging
• Lead design reviews and manage component library, release process, and design checklists
• Be the primary technical contact for fabrication/assembly vendors; drive DFM/DFT feedback and support production issues
