Job summary

Enel North America, Inc. is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead HV design, commissioning, and operational support for renewables across the USA and Canada. You will drive root-cause analyses, develop RFP specs, mentor the O&M team, and ensure compliance with NERC standards.

The role requires deep HV knowledge, project leadership, and the ability to work across a matrix organization with global teams. Hybrid work arrangement and travel 30% are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (master’s preferred).
• 13+ years of experience in electrical power systems engineering.
• Deep knowledge of interconnection requirements for renewables and regulatory frameworks.
• Experience in commissioning, operation, and maintenance of MV/HV systems.
• Strong writing and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and update technical specs for RFPs related to HV assets.
• Lead root cause analyses of HV asset failures and coordinate remediation.
• Mentor O&M team members and provide electrical engineering guidance for USA/Canada.
• Oversee subcontractors for MV/HV maintenance and coordinate with operations.
• Ensure NERC compliance and manage documentation and testing reports.
