Job summary

Blue-Signal-Search is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for a fully remote role, supporting commercial, healthcare and institutional facilities across the United States.

Lead electrical system design, perform load and short-circuit studies, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with BIM, mechanical and structural teams to deliver high-quality construction documents and client-ready recommendations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited program; master's a plus.
• 8+ years of building electrical design experience; PE license preferred or obtainable within 12 months.
• Proficiency with Revit, SKM or ETAP, and lighting calculation software.
• In-depth knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE standards, and energy codes.
• Experience coordinating remote project teams across time zones.
• Strong client-facing skills and ability to translate technical concepts into business value.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical system design for commercial facilities, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, and LVC.
• Perform load calculations, short-circuit studies, and arc-flash analysis to optimize safety and efficiency.
• Collaborate with mechanical, structural, and BIM teams to deliver coordinated CD on time and budget.
• Serve as electrical technical lead, mentoring junior engineers and reviewing submittals and shop drawings.
• Interface with clients to develop Owner Project Requirements, define scope, and present recommendations.
• Support construction-phase services: respond to RFIs, site observations, and commissioning activities.
• Champion continuous improvement via digital design tools, automation, and sustainable design practices.
