Beta Engineering is currently looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our team. There is a possibility for remote work. Electrical Engineers (EE) are responsible for the design, interpretation, application, and documentation of drawings, schematics, and diagrams. Electrical Engineers are tasked with ensuring that designs, and their applications, are completed to code and standards set forth by the appropriate authoritative bodies. In addition, EEs are required to work with customer representatives and Project Management Teams to ensure designs meet appropriate specifications and requirements.

EXPECTATIONS

1. Performs quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.
2. Interacts professionally with other employees and customers.
3. Works effectively as a team contributor on all assigned projects.
4. Communicates regularly with supervisor regarding designs, concerns, studies, or tests.
5. Desire to participate in continued education and training.
6. Occasional overnight travel to active job sites.
7. Must have a clean driving record as use of company vehicles is a requirement of the position.
8. Adhere to and practice the Beta core competencies and Beta principles.
9. Maintains check print set of all work they perform.
10. Utilizes the department EET’s in an effective manner to get all work accomplished on time and correctly.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Designs new and interprets new and existing one-lines, panel elevations, AC/DC/Communication schematics, relay panel wiring diagrams, and equipment wiring diagrams.
2. Performs and checks battery sizing calculations.
3. Writes and checks material list descriptions for electrical equipment.
4. Checks drawings for conduit, grounding, control buildings, electrical arrangements, outdoor lighting, and equipment manufacturing.
5. Reviews test reports, relay settings, coordination studies, and load flow studies.
6. Demonstrates integrity and ethics in all client relationships and communications.
7. Answers technical questions posed by construction managers, field staff, project managers, customers, and their representatives.
8. Recognizes and recommends methods to improve every customer’s experience.
9. Performs other studies (short circuit, load flow, cable ampacity, etc.) as able and required.
10. Travels periodically to both customer offices for project meetings and to job sites for construction visits and testing.
11. Manages day-to-day activities of schedule and design of projects assigned to them.
12. Coordinates and problem solves between design teams and departments.

REQUIREMENTS

1. Bachelor degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering is required.
2. 4 years of experience in Electrical Engineering Protection and Controls is required.
3. PE is required.
4. Strong background in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required; strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
5. Knowledge of all or some of the following applications are preferred: AutoCAD, CDEGS grounding software, AcSELerator Quickset, Enervista, CYMCAP, SKM, LitePro, ETAP.

COMPENSATION:

$100,000 - $175,000 per year (potential for beyond scale). Salary range is estimated. Actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications and application of any geographic salary differential.
