Job summary

Walt Disney World is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer- Projects to manage capital and maintenance for the utility’s electric distribution system. You will plan, coordinate field support, and ensure safe, on-time, within-budget delivery while aligning with standards and operational needs.

You'll lead external design firms, oversee underground distribution projects, and assist with scopes, schedules, and budgets.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 5+ years of experience in electrical distribution and HV systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee external design firms to meet project requirements, quality standards, schedules, and budget constraints.
• Support planning and execution of underground electric distribution projects, including cable replacements, duct bank installations, switchgear upgrades, and SCADA improvements.
• Assist project managers with scopes of work, schedules, budgets, and resource plans for assigned projects.
• Coordinate with engineering, operations, GIS, construction crews, and external contractors to ensure requirements and design intent are understood.
• Help prepare project documentation including drawings, specifications, bid packages, submittal reviews, and as-built records.
• Conduct on-site field visits to verify underground conditions, support construction activities, and track progress.
• Assist with project risk identification and mitigation, including reliability and outage impact assessments.
• Maintain accurate project files, tracking logs, and records for reporting and compliance.
• Provide support for commissioning activities, equipment testing, and closeout deliverables.
• Participate in troubleshooting efforts for distribution equipment or systems related to ongoing work.
• Must respond to after-hour emergencies on short notice.
