Job summary

Walt Disney World in Lake Buena Vista, FL seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer- Projects to lead planning and execution of capital and maintenance projects for the electric distribution system. You will coordinate with operations, design firms, and contractors to deliver safe, on-schedule, and on-budget outcomes.

The role requires ensuring designs meet standards, preparing scopes, schedules, and budgets, and supporting field activities from initiation through closeout.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
• Minimum 5 years in electrical distribution with high-voltage circuits.
• Ability to read designs, specs, and field drawings and to support field activities.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee external design firms to meet requirements, schedules, and budgets.
• Support underground distribution projects including cables, duct banks, and switchgear upgrades.
• Develop scopes of work, schedules, budgets, and resource plans for projects.
• Coordinate with engineering, operations, GIS, construction crews, and contractors.
• Prepare project documentation including drawings, specs, bid packages, reviews, and as-builts.
• Conduct on-site visits to verify conditions and track progress.
• Assist with risk identification, outage impact assessments, and mitigation.
• Maintain organized project files, logs, and reporting records.
• Support commissioning, equipment testing, and closeout deliverables.
• Troubleshoot distribution equipment or systems related to ongoing work.
• Be flexible to respond to after-hours emergencies on short notice.
