Sargent & Lundy in Clayton, MO is recruiting a lead engineer for electrical power system design and analysis. You will guide project teams on designing, retrofitting, and upgrading plant facilities, coordinating with vendors, and producing detailed drawings and calculations.

A PE-eligible path is preferred, with 10+ years in power plant or industrial design and strong ETAP/SKM experience. You will mentor junior engineers, participate in Communities of Practice, and travel for design reviews and

Qualifications

A BSEE degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program is required and an emphasis in power systems is preferred.
PE license highly preferred or ability to earn a PE license is required.
10 or more years of experience in power plant or industrial plant design, with a focus on integrated, detailed system design for new facilities, or modifications or replacements for existing facilities.
Experience in the selection of equipment, materials, control philosophy, and the preparation and assembling of calculations and specifications.
Experience with electrical system design including medium and low voltage distribution systems, communication systems, equipment selection, and analytical calculations.
Experience performing calculations in ETAP and/or SKM.

Responsibilities

Lead engineer in design, modification, and analysis of electrical systems for projects ranging from retrofits to new generation installations.
Coordinate system design activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and client requirements.
Prepare and review functional design drawings and calculations, including voltage drop and arc flash analyses.
Interface with vendors to prepare bills of materials and equipment purchase specifications.
Provide mentorship to less experienced engineers and contribute to peer-learning communities.
Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and site verification.
