Job summary

TAI seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead design and delivery of complex electrical projects in Charlottesville, VA. You’ll mentor design staff, coordinate construction drawings, and ensure code compliance across systems.

The role requires 8+ years of electrical design experience, plus 3+ years in Pharma/Life Science settings. Strong client interaction and project leadership are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Professional Engineer licensure is a plus.
• 8+ years of electrical design experience on diverse projects.
• 3+ years in Pharma/Biotech/Life Science environments.
• Experience with labs, data centers, or hospitals preferred.
• SME in Electrical Power, Building Services, and process systems.
• Experience delivering construction drawing sets and specs.
• Familiar with NEC and energy codes (LEED/ASHRAE/IECC/IGCC).
• Proficient with SKM, Easypower, or ETAP.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of complex electrical projects and documents.
• Mentor design team; review progress and scope changes with managers.
• Coordinate drawing packages: single lines, grounding, lighting, safety.
• Interact with customers to gather critical information and requirements.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines on project design.
• Review and develop engineering specifications and cost estimates.
