Job summary

ProspectBlue, in partnership with an established architecture and engineering firm in Virginia, seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design across healthcare, education, industrial, and government projects. The role covers design through construction administration with direct client interaction and collaboration with project managers, architects, and other engineers.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Electrical Engineering degree required.
• 10+ years of professional engineering experience.
• Virginia PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design for building projects, from concept through construction documents.
• Perform investigations, analyses, studies, scopes, cost estimates, and technical reports.
• Present technical and design solutions directly to clients.
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers and designers, and review their work for accuracy and code compliance.
• Coordinate electrical design with architectural, mechanical, plumbing, and structural disciplines.
• Lead construction administration: submittal reviews, contractor questions, and field inspections and evaluations.
• Organize cost estimates and bid preparation to align with client requirements and budgets.
• Support business development through proposals and client meetings.
• Seal final drawings and documents as Engineer of Record.
