Job summary

Burns & McDonnell's Power global practice seeks an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the electrical design for solar projects from concept through construction. You will collaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams, develop equipment layouts, and ensure designs meet budget and client requirements across multiple locations.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, QA/QC, and effective communication with clients and field teams, with travel required and PE license preferred.

Qualifications

• ABET‑accredited degree in electrical engineering or related field with 7+ years of electrical engineering experience.
• FE exam plus 7+ years of experience acceptable with ABET degree in related field.
• Master's degree with 6+ years of electrical engineering experience.
• PE license preferred; EPC project experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design from concept to design completion for project needs and requirements.
• Prepare equipment specifications, RFQs, technical bid summaries, and purchase recommendations.
• Review vendor drawings and data interfaces with suppliers and other disciplines.
• Develop project schedule, scope, budget, staffing, and construction planning.
• Manage change orders and ensure QA/QC across drawings and field activities.
• Model electrical systems using ETAP/SKM for reports and arc‑flash analysis.
