Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an experienced Lead Electrical Engineer for our Power global practice in the Kansas City area. You will lead project teams to deliver world-class electrical designs for new and retrofit facilities, coordinating with project managers and clients throughout design and construction.

Responsibilities include design leadership, drawing reviews, field inspections, and on-site field engineering.

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program with 7 years EPC experience.
Or Bachelor degree in Electrical or related Engineering Technology from ABET-accredited program with FE and 7 years EPC experience.
Or Master degree in Electrical Engineering with 6 years EPC experience.
PE license preferred.
Strong knowledge of ANSI and IEEE standards.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Lead electrical design of projects from conceptual phase through design completion.
Modify and review production drawings.
Design electrical components per project needs and requirements.
Apply knowledge of standard electrical engineering concepts, codes, and procedures.
Research and compile project data for managers.
Utilize design tools to perform calculations and plant designs.
Prepare information for client presentations, shop drawings, and contract administration.
Perform field inspections and measurements to support project execution.
Serve as a field engineer on construction sites.
Perform other duties as assigned.
