  • Modify and review electrical drawings.
  • Perform cable ampacity and trench design using software packages like CYMCAP, ETAP, or AmpCalc.
  • Model electrical systems using software packages like ETAP or SKM for generation of electrical reports including short circuit analysis, reactive power and load flow analysis, and arc flash hazard analysis.
  • Model grounding system design using software packages including CDEGs and WinIGS.
  • Design electrical components for project needs and requirements set forth by the project managers.
  • Apply strong knowledge of commonly used electrical engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the electrical engineering services industry.
  • Research and compile related data as required for each project.
  • Coordinate with local authorities having jurisdiction on permitting requirements.
  • Perform field inspections, measurements, or calculations in support of project execution.
  • Act as a field engineer on construction sites.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all policies and standards.
  • Compile information for client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration.
Qualifications

  • OR a bachelor's degree in electrical or related engineering technology from an ABET‑accredited program and successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, and 4 years of electrical engineering experience, consulting preferred.
  • OR a master's degree in electrical engineering and 2 years of electrical engineering experience, consulting preferred.
  • OR a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related engineering technology and 4 years of demonstrated experience performing detailed electrical engineering design for utility‑scale solar plants (>5 MW).
  • Strong knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including team building, collaboration, and organization.
  • Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem‑solving environment and demonstrate strong critical‑thinking skills.
  • Proficient in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Strong computer skills include Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, MicroStation, 2D and 3D rendering programs, and other analysis programs.
