Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer (Generation) to join our Power & Energy team. This nationwide search prioritizes Mount Laurel, NJ and other Power Generation offices, supporting a broad range of power plant projects.

You will provide technical leadership in design, investigations, permitting, and construction, coordinating with teams to ensure quality, safety, and regulatory compliance across multiple sites and project phases.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or closely related field.
10+ years post-education experience as a power engineer delivering design for capital projects.
PE license required; multi-state licenses preferred.
Strong knowledge of IEEE, NEC, NEMA, IEC regulations and electrical construction standards.
Experience with Combined Cycle and Simple Cycle gas turbines or HRSGs.
Ability to coordinate with mechanical and civil engineers and manage QA/QC.
Experience in short circuit, load flow, relay coordination, arc flash studies.

Responsibilities

Produce, coordinate, review and approve electrical design plans for complex power plant projects.
Lead scopes from preliminary design through commissioning support and record drawings.
Oversee development of plant electrical drawings and equipment specifications.
Lead larger-scale electrical engineering projects with budgets and scheduling oversight.
Assist with permit reviews, design plans, and compliance with regulations.
Meet with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to discuss status and decisions.
Mentor staff and develop junior engineers.
