Job summary

Salas O’Brien is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer (Power) to lead electrical design for power generation and distribution projects. You will serve as a design lead on multiple projects and collaborate with internal and external teams to meet owner objectives.

The role includes supporting business development, coordinating with vendors, and delivering solutions that align with industry standards and client goals. Travel is required.

Qualifications

• Electrical engineer with experience in power generation and distribution.
• Capable of leading multiple projects as design lead.
• Experience reading vendor shop drawings for GIS switchgear, substation transformers, DCU/PLC enclosures, Microgrid controllers, and complete generation systems.
• Strong communication with architects, owners, and contractors.
• Willing to travel.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical design packages from conceptual to IFC level for power generation and distribution.
• Coordinate with vendor packagers to develop cost-effective design solutions.
• Model ETAP or SKM and understand coordination, arc flash, grounding.
• Create one-lines, three-lines, breaker control diagrams, power plans, and systems plans.
• Read and review vendor drawings for GIS switchgear and related systems.
