Job summary

Allied Resources Group is seeking a Senior-level Electrical Engineer to lead power system design for midstream oil and gas facilities, from design through construction close-out.

Ideal candidate holds a PE license, 10–15 years of oil & gas/heavy industrial experience, and proficiency with SKM or ETAP; extensive NEC knowledge. Travel to sites is possible.

Qualifications

  • 10–15 years of engineering design experience in oil & gas/heavy industrial projects.
  • Four-year engineering degree from an accredited university.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Experience with power system studies using EasyPower, SKM, or ETAP.
  • Extensive knowledge of NEC, hazardous locations.
  • Familiar with UL, API, NFPA, IEEE, and NEMA standards.
  • Proficient with 480 V and below equipment, conduit calculations, and panel design.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings, interconnects, and vendor catalogs.
  • Strong MS Word & Excel skills for documentation.
  • Excellent communication and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

Job description

Allied Resources Group is searching for a Senior-level Electrical Engineer with experience planning, organizing, and developing engineering activities for the construction and maintenance of midstream oil and gas, energy plants and facilities. This position will actively participate in the full project cycle, from the design phase through the final construction close-out. Ideal candidate has Power Systems engineering experience. Power Studies. PE License, SKM or ETAP experience


Experience within the Oil & Gas/Pipeline/Heavy Industrial/Refinery industries required


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead projects from start to finish.

  • Planning personal daily tasks and the work of other team members.

  • Manage budget and schedule for the project’s resources and deliverables.

  • Participate in or lead squad check drawing package reviews.

  • Be able to read, interpret, and check vendor E&I drawings and vendor catalogs.

  • Travel independently to and conduct site surveys to document electrical, instrumentation, and controls at existing client sites and facilities (< 5% of time)


Capabilities and Credentials:


  • 10-15 years of engineering design experience supporting oil and gas and heavy industrial projects.

  • Four-year engineering degree from an accredited university.

  • Registered Professional Engineer

  • Extensive working knowledge and understanding of the latest version of the National Electrical Code, especially hazardous locations.

  • Working knowledge of relevant standards: UL, API, NFPA, IEEE, NEMA.

  • Proficient in interfacing with 480 V & below power electrical equipment (MCC & motor controls, transformers, ASDs, etc.) and calculations for conduit fill, voltage drop, sizing of transformers, conductors, panelboards, breakers, etc.

  • Understanding of power system studies using EasyPower, SKM or ETAP.

  • Experience with wiring diagrams, electrical interconnects, panel layouts, junction box design, PLC cabinet design, plot plans, loop diagrams, I/O lists, P&IDs, cable/conduit schedules, panelboard schedules, and electrical and instrument installation details.

  • Minimal supervision of scope development and technical details.

  • Proficient in MS Word & Excel in creating documents from scratch.

  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills: Work with clients one-on-one.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • Excellent mentoring skills to help train less experienced designers and engineers.
