Job summary

Prime AE Group in the United States is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer I (PE Level) to lead electrical system design across diverse building types. You will collaborate with architects, contractors, and field teams to deliver high-quality, code-compliant solutions from concept through construction.

This role requires 8+ years of experience, a current PE license, and proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, and lighting analysis tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 8+ years of electrical system design experience.
• Active PE license in the base state or ability to obtain.
• Experience with power distribution, lighting and lighting controls, grounding and bonding, fire alarm systems, and low-voltage systems.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Healthcare or federal project experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of building codes and electrical design practices.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple project phases independently.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of electrical systems from concept through final construction documents.
• Perform electrical engineering analyses and calculations to support system design and performance.
• Develop innovative solutions to complex design challenges across multiple project types.
• Coordinate with architects, mechanical engineers, structural engineers, and contractors to ensure integrated project delivery.
• Review and apply applicable local, state, and federal codes and standards related to electrical system design.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and designers within the MEP department.
• Participate in design reviews and support construction-phase services as needed.
