Job summary

TE Connectivity is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Digital Data Networks team in Webster, NY. You will design and implement automation and control systems for advanced optical connectivity manufacturing, including testing, validation, and integration with mechanical and optical teams.

The role emphasizes prototype development, system verification, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver reliable production solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 5-8 years of experience designing electrical systems, automation equipment, control systems, or manufacturing technologies.
• Hands-on experience with industrial automation platforms, motion control systems, sensors, machine vision, robotics, or precision manufacturing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy electrical control systems for automated manufacturing equipment, robotic cells, vision systems, motion control platforms, and precision assembly processes.
• Design and implement electrical test systems, instrumentation, data acquisition architectures, and validation platforms for optical connector manufacturing and product qualification.
• Specify, integrate, and validate electrical components including PLCs, servomotors, sensors, vision systems, power distribution systems, HMIs, and industrial communication networks.
• Develop and support PLC, motion control, and machine interface software to enable reliable, repeatable, and scalable manufacturing operations.
• Lead the design and commissioning of prototype automation and test systems from concept through production deployment.
• Develop comprehensive electrical test methodologies, failure analysis techniques, and system validation protocols to ensure performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
