Job summary
TE Connectivity is hiring an Automation & Controls Engineer within the Digital Data Networks organization to design, develop, and deploy automated manufacturing systems for optical connectivity products.
Based at TE's temporary Webster, NY site with a transition to Rochester near RIT, the role covers PLC programming, machine vision, robotics, and control architectures to drive throughput, quality and innovation across data center manufacturing.
Qualifications
- BS or higher in Electrical/Controls/Mechatronics/Automation/Computer Engineering or related field.
- Hands-on experience designing, programming, commissioning, or supporting industrial automation and controls systems.
- Experience with PLC, motion control, robotics, machine vision and industrial networking.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy automated manufacturing systems and control architectures.
- Program PLCs, servo motion, robotics, and HMIs for production lines.
- Integrate machine vision for inspection, alignment, and measurement.
- Lead automation development from concept through commissioning for new processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve cycle time, yield, and uptime through controls enhancements.
