Job summary

TE Connectivity in New York invites a Manufacturing Process Development Engineer to advance optical connector termination processes, from fiber prep to testing, in a high-precision environment. You'll drive process optimization, PFMEA, and production documentation, mentor operators, and collaborate across teams to deliver scalable, cost-conscious solutions.

Qualifications

BS in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
2–5 years in manufacturing process development, preferably in precision assembly or fiber optics.
Hands-on experience with optical connector termination, fiber handling, and SPC.
Strong Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement fundamentals.

Responsibilities

Design and optimize end-to-end optical connector manufacturing processes, including fiber prep, termination, polishing, and testing.
Develop process flows, work instructions, and specifications for single-/multi-mode assemblies.
Lead DFM reviews to meet volume, quality, yield, and cost goals.
Drive PFMEA to identify risks and implement preventive controls.
Create production documentation including process specs, control plans, WI, and procedures.
