Job summary

System One is seeking a Senior Construction Electrical Engineer in Lake Mary, FL to lead electrical engineering support for power projects from construction through commissioning. This role requires deep expertise in GT controls, protection, and high-voltage systems to ensure safe, compliant execution onsite.

You will mentor junior engineers, coordinate with vendors and contractors, and ensure adherence to client standards and regional grid code requirements while supporting grid interconnection

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 10+ years of experience supporting gas turbine, CCGT or large power-generation electrical systems.
• Deep experience with GT controls, excitation systems, relays and protection, high-voltage distribution equipment, and commissioning.
• Experience with P6 or similar scheduling tools desirable.
• Travel domestically/internationally up to 20–30% as required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary electrical technical authority for construction and commissioning.
• Lead development, review, and approval of electrical installation, testing, and commissioning procedures.
• Interpret and verify electrical documents for codes, standards, and client specs.
• Lead resolution of complex site and design issues; support RCAs and corrective actions.
• Provide technical direction to Site Managers, contractors, and vendors to ensure safe execution.
• Oversee protection coordination studies, relay settings, and alignment with schedules.
