Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the Operations Support Engineering (OSE) Electrical team. The role focuses on reliability of station electrical systems and components, with ownership of assigned areas and minimal supervision.

You’ll identify issues, develop solutions, and ensure reliability aligns with station goals while coordinating with Design, Maintenance & Operations. The position requires a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program; a Master’s

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Not Technology) from an ABET accredited program.
A Master’s degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of the B.S. degree.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in engineering work (as implied by role level).

Responsibilities

Own electrical systems and/or components of varying complexity with minimal supervision.
Coordinate cross functionally with Design, Maintenance & Operations to manage concerns, schedules and budgets.
Provide engineering/technical expertise in problem identification, analysis and resolution.
Prepare thorough technical reports, correspondence, calculations and sketches for defined problems.
Develop solutions and take actions to resolve issues affecting station goals.
Ensure component reliability aligns with station goals and apply concepts to improving systems.
