Job summary

WSP USA in New York, NY seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer for the Movable Bridge Group to lead electrical design for infrastructure projects. You will coordinate with civil, structural, mechanical and systems teams to deliver complete designs, calculations and reports, and support construction activities.

You bring 7–10 years of experience, a PE license and strong knowledge of NEC/IEEE codes. Master’s degree and HA​ZWOPER/CPR training are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 7–10 years of design engineering experience.
• Experience with electrical systems design (power, lighting, controls).
• Strong understanding of electrical design principles, codes, and standards.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation and design software.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• Active PE license required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• HAZWOPER and First Aid/CPR training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of electrical systems for infrastructure projects (power distribution, lighting, grounding, life safety).
• Prepare and oversee drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical reports.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, mechanical, and systems groups.
• Participate in all project phases from planning through construction closeout.
• Lead electrical inspections of movable structures.
• Review design deliverables for codes, standards and WSP quality requirements.
• Support construction with RFIs, submittal reviews, field inspections and site coordination.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to project teams.
• Ensure adherence to NEC, IEEE and regulatory requirements.
